Tips and Tricks:  

Creating the perfect Summer glow - Spray Tanning

Are you sick of looking like an oompah loompah? Not getting the perfect tan or struggling to get your old fake tan off?? Then we have the answer for you.....

To Get The Perfect Colour: 
Make sure all waxing and shaving is done at least 24 hours prior to tanning. Exfoliate the skin thoroughly the night before concentrating on dry areas such as the knees and elbows. It is best to use a product that is oil free as this will ensure there is no barrier created on the skin. 

I always reccomend chatting to your technician as well to find your perfect colour. There are many shades to choose from as well as having an express option!!

To Make Your Tan Last Longer: 
Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise!!! We recommend a moisturiser with a gradual tan in it! This makes it perfect for making your tan last longer, giving a bit more depth to the colour, evening out different shades and it can also be worn on it's own for a gradual tan.

You also want to avoid using soap as it strips the tan very quickly, try something more nourishing like body wash!

To Remove your old sunless tan:
It can be quite common to get a build up of colour if you are a regular tanner and it can be quite difficult to remove. A fabulous product to try is TanGO, it is a specially designed glove that gently removes the tanning pigment from the surface of your skin without scrubbing or harsh chemicals.

It is best used in the shower damp but not too wet, the wetter your TanGO the less tan it will remove. You can use it on a regular basis with a body wash for all over exfoliation, it is a perfect tanning preparation tool!!

Teenage Skin:                              

Teens/ Tweens and Everything In Between are you frustrated with pimples, oily skin or Blackheads??

The teen years can be filled with angst - the last thing you need is troubled skin.

From breakouts that come out of the blue, to an oily complexion that shines out of control, the teen years can be filled with skin problems. If you're like many teens, you probably feel you're the only one who's affected. But the truth is that you're not - skin problems are common in teens.

One major misconception about 'problem skin' is that people assume it must be oily.  Often - it's the opposite.  Just think; most teens don't moisturise, they then apply alcohol based products to "dry out" the pimples and this results in really dry skin! Which then works overtime to try to replenish itself!  And often the pores are blocked up with dead skin cells and the natural sebum just can't break through leading to pimples and blackheads.

So how to resolve this?                      

Firstly - Ban alcohol based products! And anything with Benzol Peroxide.

The skin needs to be cleansed with a pH balanced, gentle cleanser that suits the individual's skin type. 

Next step is exfoliation.  Those pores need to be clear!  Exfoliating helps remove blackheads and dead skin cells (which can cause skin congestion ie: pimples!).  I recommend exfoliating 2-3 days a week. Always making sure not to rub too vigorously over pimples that have white heads. These contain bacteria that can cause more breakouts if they are broken and spread across the face.

 Finally moisturising! Yes teenagers NEED to moisturise.  Don't think that moisturisers are going to "add oil" to the skin. There are plenty of fantastic moisturisers that are oil free and are designed to matte the oily shine that can be seen throughout the day. Also it's so important to be wearing a SPF everyday, it's a myth that sunscreen causes breakouts, as long as your wearing a good quality one that is a non-comedogenic product, which basically means it doesn't clog the pores.
